Band recorded RIVAL TIME with Mark Alan Miller

They started playing out with much more frequency sometimes playing NYC and Boston two to three times a month each.

They're still students, but Axis Records and Gerard Cosloy (from Matador Records) keep booking shows for them, along with other bands (mostly from the Bicycle show in Brooklyn the previous summer).

Around this time, the trio gets their first local gig off campus at Bay State Hotel. They were initially met with resentment from locals, because they were signed to a label with no local shows under their belt.

The band is welcomed into the then vibrant music scene of early 1990s Northampton.

The band makes quite an impression locally and starts to get some worthwhile attention nationally. MY LITTLE BASTARD SOUL is finally released, and it's mostly met with praise from a steady stream of reviews.

They are even offered a Peel Session, but Homestead can't foot the bill to fly them to England, which was unfortunate, since some of the best reviews of that time came from Peel himself.
