The band leaves for a grueling eleven week tour in support of HURRICANE NECKLACE. Despite reasonable promotion from Grass, they once again have a hard time finding their new album in any stores. To compound this troubling situation, Grass mails boxes of t-shirts and records to the wrong address and the band has to wait six weeks before they have any merchandise to support themselves with.
They subsist on profits from "Subway Token" seven inches and Silver Jews split singles (the latter now selling quite well on the coat tails of the very successful "The Natural Bridge").
Tour highlights include seeing their name on the legendary Whisky A-Go-Go marquee in L.A. Low points include (but are not limited to) playing the same venue and being yanked off of stage after fifteen minutes. (Note: at the Whisky they have a tele-prompter that lights up to tell a band when to start, play the last song or play an encore. After NRSK's fourth song the lights kept flashing "LAST SONG". Ignoring the warning, they kept playing until the soundman cut the power.)
