In preparation for the new record (WINTER's KILL), Garrett comes back to the valley and the band rehearses. Thom Monahan is asked to produce and drums are tracked at Slaughterhouse with Mark Alan Miller on 1" 24-track. Peyton's house in Northampton is set up as an ad hoc studio and the guitars and keys are tracked to guide mixes on 1" 8-track. Vocals are completed in the same fashion at Thom's house up the road and all tracks are transferred to 20-bit ADAT machines. For mixing the band returns to Slaughterhouse and assembles the tracks accordingly. By December sixteen songs are mixed and the band begins mailing copies to labels.
